Snack time is usually the time when most people ditch their diets and munch down on something yummy and sweet to make their craving go away. But just because you have a craving doesn’t mean you need to completely abandon your diet. Instead, try something that is not only healthy for you but also tastes great and gives you the vitamins and nutrients that can have a huge effect on your health overall. One of those snacks is sour fruits and they can completely change the way you snack from this point forward.
Need a Snack? Consider Sour Fruits Which can be Healthy for You
When most people think about sour fruits they don’t think of them as snacks. Instead, for most sour fruits, the usage is usually as a flavor additive such as with lemon water, or lime juice sprinkled over a salad. While using these sour fruits like this is great and can make a meal more delicious, why not take the next step when it comes to eating these healthy fruits and make them more the main course. Well, when it comes to snacking anyway. Here are some sour fruits and their benefits which you can snack on:
Green Apples
“An apple a day, keeps the doctor away” I’m sure you’ve heard this common saying since apples are one of the more healthy fruits around. But it’s not just red, sweet apples that are great for you. Green apples also provide a lot of health benefits which you can enjoy. Not only do they provide a lot of fiber to your diet but they are also a great source of Vitamin K which can help regulate blood in your body which in turn helps with blood clots and heart issues.
Cranberries
Everyone loves cranberry sauce during the holidays, but this sour fruit can pack a punch on it’s own and you don’t need to wait until Thanksgiving to eat it. Cranberries are a small fruit that can be eaten as a snack. They help with your blood pressure and have a high content of anti oxidants in them which is great for your immune system. Not only that but if you have frequent urinary tract infections, cranberries can help to reduce that.
Green Mangos
One of my favorite fruits to eat is green mangos. They pack a lot of nutrients and is one of the more healthy fruits available that you can snack on. Not only that but the sour taste is usually not as defined as some of the other sour fruits so they make a good alternative if some of the other fruits are simply too sour for you.
These are just some of the sour fruits that you can use to help with your diet and health. There are lots of other fruits which can help with your diet as well and can a much healthier alternative to traditional snacks. For a list of sour fruits and the benefits each can have on your weight loss and health be sure to take a look at the sour fruit list which has many more and goes into much more details about these healthy fruits. Be sure to check out the tart cherries as well, which are another of my favorites.
